Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other like social media apps became popular because people use them for self-expressions. In this fast paced life, tension and stress is high, the social media as our outlet of emotions help relieve the internal tension. By expression of the self, some people are displaying their talents in the social media, that some of them become popular. Others become victims of bashing because of negative expressions. For this purpose I intend to write this post. Why not use your personal social media account to your advantage other than communicating with your loved ones. Get popularity! Its healthy to be popular, with the right attitude, it could serve you a lot and others also. By being popular, you will gain many followers, and getting many followers can work best for you if you choose. It is not easy to build followers and it doesn't happen overnight. With patience and consistency, you can achieve it.
Some advantages of popularity in the social media:
1. You can opt to build a business and use your account in marketing it.
2. Your followers can help you in any cause oriented projects you may have.
3. You can easily make a brand for yourself and your organization.
4. Conducting a survey for your researches and studies, your followers can be of help.
How can you be popular thereby increasing your followers if you are a simple and ordinary person?
1. Set your account setting in "Public". Common sense tells us, how can you be seen by the world if your social media account is highly secured? Unless your account is for friends and family only, go ahead, don't be afraid to go public. It's kinda risky that's why social media pages are advising its users to be discreet in posting materials and images. There is always a way to post publicly without compromising its important contents. And common sense tell us also: why post images and materials that will endanger your reputation and yourself ? But one thing is sure, popularity also has some risk, so use common sense.
2. Accept friends and followers even those you don't know personally. In simple phrase: "Don't be choosy!". You want to be popular and gain many followers--- add everybody in your friendlist.

3. Tap your talent and display it on your social media account. The public is always looking for something to admire, something different, something new, something that will trend in the internet.
4. Be kind socially. Be warm. Be friendly. Be positive. The world is already filled with negative vibes, and a positive outlook and projection in the social media attracts people. Don't bash nor criticize others you don't like. It will win you sour reactions from followers, and use you as a laughingstock. Also, hit "Like" to others' posts. There are many social media personalities who only like to "Liked" but hate "liking" others. Cater to your followers' emotional need-- a hit "Like" is an emotional support.... so be kind! Anyway, your posts suggests your values, so display good values and people will like you.
Of course, there are those who will hate you in the social media, don't mind them-- like them instead. Remember, you are working on your popularity with a purpose. Focus on your purpose.
5. Post everyday. Make your post wholesome, entertaining and interesting. If you wish to post your pictures of the day, make sure there is something interesting on it. Feel the heartbeat of your followers about your posts. Follow what it dictates. Remember, you are marketing yourself. You should be releasing charisma online.
You can also choose a concept for your timeline and posts that would make people find interesting and follow you. And your concept will be carried out all throughout your posts, whether texts, images and displays.
